What Are Dentures?

Dentures are a dental restoration that replaces multiple or all of your missing teeth with artificial teeth set in a body-safe plastic that mimics the appearance of healthy gum tissue. Dentures are custom-made to fit your specific needs. There are a number of different denture options, but each is designed to restore the integrity of your bite and the beauty of your smile.

We offer traditional partial and full dentures as well as snap-on dentures, which are removable, and fixed implant-supported dentures, which are permanent. One of our friendly dentists will discuss your options and make recommendations based on your desires and lifestyle.

Partial Dentures: If you have lost many of your teeth but still have a few healthy teeth remaining, then partial dentures may be right for you. Partial dentures can be configured to fit around your natural teeth. We carefully design your partial dentures to match the size, shape, and color of your missing teeth so they blend seamlessly with your remaining natural teeth.

Full Dentures: When you have lost all of your teeth, or the remaining teeth you have are severely compromised or decayed in your upper, lower, or both arches, then full dentures are a great way to restore your smile. We artfully craft dentures that look natural and create a smile that you love. Our compassionate team takes the time to ask questions and actively listens to your input and needs to create a dental restoration that you can't wait to show off.

Implant-Supported Dentures: Implant-supported partial and full dentures are increasingly popular because they are permanent restorations, so they will not fall or slip. They are also the only restoration that uses implant posts, which perform the vital function your natural tooth roots would of stimulating your jaw, which prevents bone loss and preserves your facial muscles and structure.

Our Process for Dentures

When you need dental care, you want a team that puts you first. Our team is passionate about providing quality dental care that boosts your oral health and overall quality of life. We combine over a decade of experience with modern technology and techniques and a gentle chairside manner to give you a positive experience every time you visit.

We begin with a thorough exam of your teeth, jaws, and gums, with 3D imaging if needed, to provide detailed measurements. Our friendly team will use this information to get a full picture of your oral health and determine the treatments that benefit you the most. If any pretreatments are required, such as extractions, bone grafts, or gum disease treatment, then we will include them in your overall plan.

If you select traditional dentures, which are removable, then we will take the results of your exam and the measurements we have gathered and submit them to a trusted lab to create your custom dentures.

If you are interested in implant-supported dentures, then we will perform the procedure to place the implant posts that will provide a stable and permanent base for your restoration. Once the post has fused with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration, we will attach your partial or full dentures.

Dentures FAQs

Our team is dedicated to furthering our own education so we always have answers to your questions and concerns. We are happy to provide the information you need to make a confident decision regarding your treatment plan. Here are some of the most common questions we receive about dentures.

How do I clean my dentures?

This depends on which dentures you choose. For traditional or removable dentures, you will remove your dentures and clean them with a denture-safe toothpaste and then store them overnight in a denture solution to keep them clean and the plastic base soft. Implant-supported dentures are easy to care for because you will simply brush and floss your dentures twice daily, just like your natural teeth.

If your dentures break or become uncomfortable, too tight, or too loose, then you should visit us immediately. We provide denture relining and repairs so you can smile confidently once more.

Dentures are extremely durable and can last for 10-15 years. To ensure the longevity of your dentures, you should follow our dentist's instructions for maintenance and care.

Yes. Immediate dentures allow you to leave our office with a new smile on the same day as your extractions. However, after your gum tissue and jaws have healed, you will need to return for a reline to ensure a comfortable fit or to have a permanent denture crafted.
